IYC Chief Addresses Youth Convention

Jammu, April 25 :- Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth congress held an impressive convention here today in connection with the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi.
All India Youth Congress President Shri Amarinder Singh Raja Brar was the chief guest in the convention which was organized by PYC under the leadership of PYC President Pranav Shagotra, while PCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir presided over besides Sr. Vice President PCC Sham Lal Sharma, CLP Leader Rigzin Jora, Vice President Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnesh Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney Ch. Shah Nawaz, S.S. Channi, Smt. Indu Pawar, Shiv Kumar, Neeraj kundan, were prominent among those who graced the occasion.
Earlier a rousing reception was accorded to the IYC Chief from Airport to the venue of the convention at Gujjar Desh Charitable Trust. A large number of youth congress workers led by PYC General secretary Varinder Singh Chib took out the IYC Chief in a rally from Airport amidst raising of slogans.
Addressing the largely attended convention IYC Chief lashed out at the Modi government for trying to distort history and ignoring the contributions of great stalwarts like Indira Gandhi on political considerations but said that these attempts would not succeed as the countrymen would never forget their contributions. He referred to the removal of the postal stamp in name of Former PM Indira Gandhi during BJP regime, which speaks of their vendetta. He said that Smt. Gandhi’s achievements in post Bangladesh war was lauded by none less than former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee but Modi government and Present BJP leadership has jealousy towards Congress stalwarts. He also referred to attempts to present distort facts about Pandit Nehru and Sardar Patel, where as both the leaders had lot of praise and togetherness during their whole life.
Lambasting the policy of vendetta pursued by the BJP and Modi government, Sh. Raja said that the democratic norms are being violated and every attempt is being made to tarnish the image of Congress leadership. He said that every effort is being made to implicate the top Congress leaders in false cases, however the Congress and youth congress cadres would fight tooth and nail the wrong policies of Modi governments and BJP. He said that the youth congress had played a vital role in late seventies to bring the congress back to power and it is again the time to awaken to unite the youth against the wrong policies by the BJP government. He said that congress would emerged stronger, as it has the tendencies to emerge powerful against challenges of the time. He asked the youth of the State to strengthen the party and oppose the policies of the present regime in the State which is most opportunist alliance of two ideologically different parties, who are together for the sake of power but are following a divisive policy on sensitive issues and indulge in rehtorics to address their respective constituencies, as a result that situation has worsened a lot in the valley.
Addressing the convention PCC Chief Sh. G.A. Mir lauded the efforts of youth congress to highlight the failure of the present government and to oppose their wrong policies be it centre government or State government. He said that the situation has deteriorated in the state due the wrong polices of the centre and State government and the betrayal of respective mandate by the PDP & BJP for the sake of power. Mir said that the two parties primarily contested against the agenda of each other and exploited the regional and religious sentiments of the people but later betrayed the faith of respective electorate, which has caused great anger against the youth. He said that the present dispensation has totally failed to handle the situation, lack any road map to arrest the situation in the valley. He asked the youth to be torch bearer of change and work to strengthen the policies and ideology of Congress party.
Addressing the gathering Sh. Sham Lal Sharma lashed out the opportunist forces who exploit the sentiment of the people for their political vested interests. He said that national interests should not be compromised and congress has to be cautious against the such forces who have dual standards. He lashed out at the BJP for exploiting the regional aspirations but when in power, they have failed to deliver and surrendered the interests of people especially youth of Jammu region.
Sh. Rigzin Jora severely criticized the failure of the PDP-BJP for failing to come to the expectations of people and are responsible for the prevailing unrest in the valley. He said that congress always worked for strengthening the bonds of unity and integrity of three regions and ensured equitable development and all out war against communal and divisive forces is the test of the time to maintain unity in diversity.
Raman Bhalla also lashed out at the BJP, PDP combine for its total failure and blamed the two parties of exploiting the sentiments of people. He said that two parties and their leaders speak in different languages but are together for power, which has left them exposed before people.
Earlier PYC President Pranav Shagotra welcomed the IYC Chief and other senior leaders of PCC and said that youth congress is the backbone of the party. He said that youth congress has always highlighted the issues of youth and protested against the wrong policies of the present regime which is most unholy and opportunists. He said youth congress would continue to target the polices and failure of present regime and fight the communal and divisive policies and forces in order to maintain harmony and unity in the society.
