Jammu, Apr 25: Reacting to the brutal attack on Muslim naomads in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, senior congress leader from peerpanjal region,Mohd Iqbal Shawl described the incident as inhuman and provocative.
In his statement to the press,Shawl took on the BJP govt for its perpetual efforts to destabilise the state through its ' religious intolerance' policy aimed at creating a wedge between the various religious groups which had "a centuries old history of communal harmony". There has been a perpetual effort by the BJP to incite a sense of terror through regular fatal attacks on minorities across the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, soon after its having formed the govt. The fresh incident of attack on nomad gujjars in REASI being a part of it speaks about the intentions of BJP's cadre for future " Shawl said.

Shawl accused the PDP for having sold the state to the BJP for its personal interests and ends. He described the attack on the nomad family in REASI district as a barbaric action and critised the govt for having failed in providing security to the family which was shifting its live stock to the summer place.
Speaking his apprehensions about the unending attacks by the communal elements , Shawl said, " The chain of incidents that aims at targetting the innocent people points towards an impending civil war in the state."
He stressed upon the law and order machinery to provide security to the victim family and trace out the missing youth of the family at the earliest. The state is passing through ird darrest period in history. It becomes the duty of the beauracracy including the law enforcing agencies to work under their conscience to save the state instead of pleasing the communal elements.
Showing his sympathies with the victim gujjar family of Reasi, Shawl said that his party was grieved over their sufferings and stood for justice with them.
