SMVDU Students Visited Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala

Jammu, Apr 24: An industrial visit was organized for B.Tech. 3rd year students of Mechanical Engineering to the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, on 22ndApril, 2017. The visit was aimed at letting the students to get the insight of all the engineering principles and techniques, employed into the making of state-of- the-Art Indian Railway coaches. The visit was attended more than 38 students of Mechanical engineering under the supervision of Er. Yatheshth Anand and Er. Amit Sinha.
Mr. Shrikrishan Juneja toured the students through the different shops viz. the sheet metal shop, steel shop, painting shop, shell shop, wagon shop and the furnishing shop. During the visit, the students were benefitted by the demonstration of 22 axis Laser cutting and welding machine, plasma profile cutting machine, cut to length machine etc. and the other latest, state of the art robotic welding and painting techniques. However, B.Tech students exchanged the views with the technical experts of the Rail Coach Factory in which technical experts of the Rail Coach Factory informed the students that the coaches for the various countries like Bangladesh and Sri-Lanka are also manufactured in the same factory. It is pertinent to mention that with this visit SMVDU student get the latest knowledge and exposure in the field of mechanical engineering. Vice Chancellor, SMVDU, Prof. Sanjeev Jain congratulated the students for the industrial visit and further appreciated the efforts of the organizing team for the Industrial visit.
