Thousands attend funeral of militant killed in Chadoora gunfight
Srinagar, Apr 23: Thousands of people on Sunday participated in the funeral prayers of slain militant Younis Maqbool Ganie who was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Hayatpora village of central Kashmir's Budgam district yesterday.
Ganie, a resident of Patrigam village located six kilometres from Chadoora area, had recently joined the militant ranks.
Eyewitnesses said that around twenty thousand people attended his funeral prayers at Patrigam.
He was laid to rest at a graveyard in front of his residential house amid pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, they said.
