Darbar offices to close in Jammu on Apr 28, reopen in Srinagar on May 8

Jammu, Apr 11: The traditional Darbar offices will close here on April 28 and will reopen in Srinagar on May 8. The Darbar offices will close in the winter capital here on April 28 and reopen in the Summer capital on May 8, said an official.

"Arrangements for Darbar move are in progress," a senior official here today said. He said that all records of various departments have been put in place for shifting them to the Summer Capital.

He further said that employees are busy arranging the record files, adding, "buses of SRTC will be pressed into service to shift the Darbar move employees while trucks will transport the records." Official said that advancement party will move days before move employees. Darbar Move is over 150-years old exercise strarted during Maharaja's time. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had many times sought ending of this exercise in the welfare of the state and interest of state exchequer.
