Naib Tehsildar, Patwari arrested

JAMMU: Vigilance Organization Jammu today arrested Naib Tehsildar for abusing official position in the shape of illegal entries on State Land. As per Vigilance spokesperson, on the basis of verification regarding probe into the illegal entries on State Land by the Revenue officers / officials at Dhar Sarthal, Bani in Kathua, the Vigilance Organization registered a formal case i.e., FIR No. 05/2012 u/s 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, 2006 and Section 467,468,120-B RPC at P/S VOJ. He said that as per investigation by the Vigilance Organization into the matter, proved the allegations of corruption against Liyakat Ali (then Patwari) now Naib Tehsildar Duggan Dhar Sarthal, tehsil Bani and Abdul Sattar, then Naib tehsildar Bani (now retired), who by abuse of official position with ulterior motives in order to give undue benefits to the beneficiaries made number of illegal / fraudulent Girdawari entries of State Land situated at Dhar Sarthal under Roshni Scheme. After the case has been proved against above said Revenue officers, Vigilance Organization produced charge-sheet against Liyakat Ali (then Patwari) now Naib Tehsildar Duggan Dhar Sarthal tehsil Bani and Abdul Sattar then Naib tehsildar Bani (now retired) before the Judge, Anti Corruption Court, Kathua.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the accused persons have been sent to judicial custody till 31.03.2017 and they have been lodged in District Jail Kathua by sleuths of Vigilance Organization.
