Sajad reviews implementation of DDRC scheme

SRINAGAR, MARCH 01: Minister for Social Welfare, Sajad Gani Lone, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Centrally Sponsored District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) scheme.
The meeting was informed that a total of 11 DDRCs have been approved in the State and each DDRC will have a maximum of 11 staff members, having specified qualifications, who shall be paid fixed honorarium as per prescribed norms.
On the occasion, the Minister directed that all the related formalities, like recruitment of staff, must be completed by March 25 so that DDRCs can function from April 1 this year.
Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Baramulla and Kupwara informed the meeting that the process of filling up posts under the scheme is underway and interviews of candidates shall be held soon.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, DC Anantnag Syed Abid Rashid, DC Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, DC Kupwara Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Director Social Welfare and Director Composite Regional Centre Hashmat Ali, and other concerned attended the meeting.
