Ajay Nanda kick-starts road works in Pouni

REASI (POUNI), Mar 1: Minister of State for Finance and Planning today said that Government under various schemes has initiated developmental works including work on several roads in various areas of Pouni on fast-tracking mode.
The Minister was speaking at a function after starting work of two roads of Phase 10th and stage first. The roads are constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Pouni of district Reasi.
The first road from Pouni to Kalar having length of 4.5 km would be completed at an estimated cost of 303. 38 lakhs, while as second from Kund to Kund Kanyari with the length of 6 km would involve a total cost of Rs 521.22 lakhs.
The two roads after completion would provide connectivity to small hamlets of Kund, Kalar, Kana, Puria, Kanyari and Majra Kund including some parts of Pouni too.
The Minister while speaking instructed the concerned officers to complete the roads at an earliest, besides maintaining the quality of the works so that people of uncovered hamlets do not face any problem of connectivity in their areas.
The Minister further elucidated that present dispensation is fully committed to ensure seamless travel and transportation of goods by spreading road net works in remote areas, besides removing bottlenecks on existing roads in the State.
Pointing to many road projects in the Reasi, the Minister said development is not possible without developing basic infrastructure. He said improving on road networks is the priority of the present dispensation as the good road links in remote areas improves the economic condition of people and ensure them comfortable life.
The Minister was accompanied by various officers of block Pouni and concerned engineers.
