Veeri reviews functioning of Revenue Deptt

SRINAGAR, MARCH 01: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Abdul Rehman Veeri, Wednesday convened a meeting here to review the functioning of the Revenue Department.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioners of all valley districts, Assistant Commissioners Revenue of Kashmir province, Officers of Department and other concerned attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Minister was briefed about the status of revenue records, mutations, settlements, encroachments, land acquisition, and relief & rehabilitation measures.
It was said that the district Srinagar, with 2208 completed mutations, has recorded the highest number of mutations and Special Revenue Camps have been held to accelerate the process in the district.
Regarding the status of revenue complexes being made or renovated, the Minister was informed that besides renovation of district complex in Shopian, work on revenue complexes in Budgam and Handwara is going on and shall be completed at the earliest.
While stressing the Revenue officials to work with added zeal, Veeri said that the Department holds key for efficient and effective governance in the State, adding that a total commitment is required to achieve the set administrative targets.
