Progress of PMUY reviewed in Kulgam

KULGAM, FEBRUARY 28: To review the progress in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the district, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of General Manager Indian Oil Corporation North India Sandeep Jain here today.
On the occasion, the General Manager stressed the LPG dealers to strictly follow the guidelines in implementation the scheme. He also enjoined them to encourage cashless transactions as envisaged by the Government.
The meeting was informed that around 25000 beneficiaries have been identified under PMUY, out which 12000 have been provided gas connection at concessional rates.
Earlier, the IOC team led by Jain also met Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat to discuss the strategies for better implementation of the PMUY. The team sought cooperation of the District Administration to clear bottlenecks, so that the benefits of the yojana percolate to deserving beneficiaries.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner assured the team that awareness camps would be held for public information and said that the district administration is keen and actively involved in implanting the scheme.
