VC KVIB reviews progress of PMEGP

1369 cases sponsored under MUDRA scheme

JAMMU FEBRUARY 28 Vice Chairman J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Peerzada Mansoor Hussain Soharwardhy chaired a review meeting regarding implementation of Programmes and schemes under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), here today.
During the meeting, Vice Chairman was apprised that the Government has nominated J&K KVIB as one of the sponsoring agencies for establishment of Textile Industry Group Units. He was further informed that till date Board has sponsored 1369 cases to various Banks under Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme which includes project cost of Rs 52 crore.
It was also informed that J&K KVIB is also one of the nodal agencies nominated by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) for implementation of prestigious Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI). The J&K KVIB Board has identified 37 clusters in the State and submitted their project reports to Ministry of MSME, out of which 2 clusters have been already approved and 7 clusters are under active consideration of Ministry.
KVIB has been given a target of 893 units to be established in the State at an estimated cost of Rs 17.86 crore of margin money for the fiscal year. 716 cases were sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 11.22 crore which were also disbursed by Banks.
Vice Chairman stressed upon concerned officers to put their efforts and extend hand holding support to beneficiaries and ensure to achieve the set target by March 15, 2017.
VC enjoined upon the KVIB officers to provide full support to the budding entrepreneurs especially to the unemployed youth so as to provide them an opportunity to establish their income generating units.
Secretary CEO J&K KVIB, Mir Afroz, Deputy CEO KVIB, Kashmir Rashid Ahmad, Deputy CEO KVIB Jammu, Santosh Saraf, besides District officers and other officials attend the meeting.
