Dir Agriculture flags-off farmers study tour

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 27: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Showkat Ahmad Beigh, today flagged-off 9-day study tour for farmers of Kashmir division during which they will learn about innovations and latest methodology in Agriculture and allied sectors.
Organized by Farmers Training & Extension Centre Ganderbal and Department of Agriculture Kashmir under Prime Minister Krishi Sinchai Yojna (PMKSY), the study tour comprises 60 farmers of Kashmir Division including 30 women farmers as well.
During the tour, the farmers shall be visiting Regional Research Station, Vegetable Seed Production Karnal, Horticulture Training Institute Karnal, Indo-Israel Vegetable Project Garonda and also NDRI Wheat Research Institute and Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana.
It was said that the farmers will also visit Central Institute for Post Harvest Technology K.V.K Ambala, SKUAST-J R.S. Pora.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director said that such visits shall provide the farmers an opportunity to interact with the Agricultural scientists, Research scholars and related field functionaries.
