Assessment, Evaluation of Examinations: Govt College for Education hosts 2-day seminar

SRINAGAR FEBRUARY 27: A 2-day State level seminar on Assessment and Evaluation System of Examinations organized by Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), commenced here today at Government College of Education Srinagar.
On the occasion, VC Cluster University Kashmir Division Dr. Sheikh Javeed Ahmad was the chief guest. Principal SP College Yaseen Ahmad Shah and Nodal Principal Amar Singh College Mohammad Aslam Baba were also present on the occasion.
While briefing the participants about aim of the seminar, Principal IASE Prof. (Dr) Parveen Pandit said that there has been a growing realization that the existing evaluation and assessment system of examination is deficient in several ways and it needs to be reviewed and reformed to make it purposeful.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC Cluster University Kashmir Division underscored the need for raising the examination system in the state to national level standard. He said need of the hour is to lay emphasis on making the evaluation and assessment process in accordance with the changing environment, so as to achieve the desired result for quality and excellence in education at all levels.
On the inaugural day of the State level seminar, as many as 12 speakers, from various colleges presented their paper on the different sub themes, which were appreciated by the audience.
