Doda RDD Misusing Government Exchequer .

Most of Works Executed under MGNREGA Not Completed.

Doda, Feb 27:The rural development department has caused huge loss to the government exchequer during the past several years as most of the works executed under various schemes in far flung areas of Doda district have not been completed whereas the bills have been drawn.
It has come to light that many works undertaken by the department in rural areas appear only on papers and have either been left incomplete or at some places even not executed at all on ground whereas the amount meant for such works has been drawn and disbursed among to persons involved in the scam.
The Rural Development Department had undertaken many works under MGNREGA scheme across Doda district during the financial year 2010-11 to 2015-16 such as construction of foot paths, land levelling, construction of parks, springs pacca paths etc.
Unfortunately most of these have not been completed till date in many panchayats and panch constituencies including Gaie Dessa, Jatheli ,Bharath, Bagla,, Gadetar,, Gundna and other areas. The funds meant for the development of rural areas have gone waste and the department is looking as a mute spectator and busy in maintaining the files for ready reference while the actual aim remains a distant dream for the realities and the tall claims of the successive governments to ensure equitable development of rural areas appears to be only an eyewash
