2-day science conference commences at SP College Srinagar
SRINAGAR, FEBUARY 25: A 2-day National Interdisciplinary Conference on titled ‘Science for Sustainable Development’ commenced today at Sri Pratap College Srinagar.
The conference attended by 300 experts, scientists, researchers and academicians from all realms of science to discuss the objective of sustainable development in tandem with scientific inventions.
Speaking during the inaugural session, Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, deliberated on issues pertaining to environment and pros and cons of sustainable development. He hoped that the conference would prove helpful in framing some recommendations to attain objective of the sustainable development.
He encouraged the Higher Education Institutions to identify goals pertaining to eradication of poverty, resource management, gender equality and quality education with an aim to tackle the major problems that are hindering the development of the state.
