Governor inaugurates Motivational Seminar-cum-Workshop for Civil Services Aspirants

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 25: Governor N.N. Vohra, inaugurated a Seminar-cum-Workshop for Civil Services aspirants which has been jointly organized by the Youth Hostels Association of India and the ASCENT Group, at the Abhinav Theatre here today.
Governor observed that in the context of the growing competitive environment, the youth of J&K should aspire to be among the best and achieve success on all fronts, not merely in the Civil Services. He said that today the world is witnessing growing competition in every arena of activity and our youth face the challenge of being more competent, efficient and reliable. Lauding the talents of the youth of the State the Governor observed that given the required opportunities and a conducive environment, they have the capability of achieving excellent results in every arena. He urged the youth to spare no effort to fully develop their capabilities, participate in every all India and State competitive examination and secure the best results.
The Governor noted that despite the serious difficulties faced in the past years, our youth is coming up very well and there has been a progressive increase in the number of our students who are getting selected for the various All India Services, Central Services and Defence Services every year. He observed that concerted efforts for enlarging awareness about the various opportunities available in the country and provision of sound guidance would enable our youth to achieve outstanding results. He exhorted the youth to explore the wonderful career opportunities which are now available all over the world and work very hard to achieve their goals.
Lauding the efforts of the State Universities to provide able guidance through the centres run by them to coach the aspirants of various prestigious service the Governor stressed the need for the youth to look beyond the civil services to the numerous other opportunities for self employment and entrepreneurship.
Governor wished bright careers ahead to the aspirants and re-iterated that well planned and sustained hard work would enable the aspirants to gain success not merely in the Civil Services but in all prestigious examinations for admission to institutions of learning. He complimented Mr. Mohd. Shafi Pandit endeavours for providing guidance to students of J&K for achieving their career goals.
Shri Chander Parkash, Minister for Industries & Commerce and Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, addressed the gathering on the occasion and urged the students to work hard for achieving their career goals and strive for what is due to them. Prof. Aima advised the students not to waste the crucial years and the opportunities available to them to rise and shine in life.
Shri Anand David, Director Manford, New Delhi delivered a motivational lecture for the large number of civil services aspirants who were present in the audience.
Mr. Mohd. Shafi Pandit, Chairman, ASCENT Group, presented the Welcome Address and Mr. S.P Varma, Chairman, Hostels Association of India, J&K, gave the Vote of Thanks.
