Major cancer surgery conducted at DH Pulwama

PULWAMA, FEBURUARY24: District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam has appreciated district hospital administration Pulwama and the operative team for conducting maiden successful major cancer surgery in the district.
Pertinently, an elderly male patient with Colo-Rectal cancer was successfully operated upon by a team of doctors in district hospital (DH) Pulwama.
According to hospital authorities the patient had a history of bleeding PR for the last 6 months and had a polypoid growth of 5 cm from anal verge on digital rectal examination. It was said that histopathological report of the patient showed high grade dysplasia and patient underwent low anterior resection with stapled anastomosis besides a covering ileostomy.
The major surgery was conducted under the supervision of MS Pulwama hospital Dr Rashid Para by a team of doctors including Dr Shameem (Onco Surgeon), Dr Khalid (Surgical Gastroenterologist), Dr Imran Gul (Surgeon), Dr Hilal, Dr Naseer (Anesthetist), Naseer Pandit, Mohammad Maqbool, Mushtaq and Ms Sabiya (OT Paramedical Staff).
