Special drive launched to streamline traffic management in Rajouri, Poonch

RAJORI/POONCH, FEBRUARY 24 - Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural, Jammu, Shaheen Wahid conducted an extensive tour of district Rajouri and Poonch to improve traffic system in the twin districts.
The team checked traffic violations of over-speeding, driving under influence of alcohol, driving without seat belts and alike.
On the occasion, special drives have been launched against the visible offences like driving without DL, use of mobile phone while driving, riding without crash helmet, triple riding and over-speeding.
During the drive Wahid highlighted the importance of crash helmets and seat belts. Public was requested to cooperate with the traffic police and help in preventing loss to human lives by taking all preventive measures and obeying the MVA/Rules.
A meeting was also conducted with ARTO Rajouri, ARTO Poonch, prominent citizens and transport unions for improving the traffic system.
During the meeting traffic related issues were discussed and assurance was given regarding curbing of traffic violations responsible for a large number of causalities every year.
A campaign “No Helmet-No Petrol” and “No Seat Belt- No Petrol/Diesel” was launched with strict directions to petrol pumps for not selling fuel to the vehicles found violating traffic rules.
