Hanjura reviews progress of MGNREGA convergence works in Chrar-e-Sharief

Seeks active involvement of local representatives in identification of works

SRINAGAR, FEBUARY 24: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has asked the district administration Budgam to expedite execution of development works in different sectors and complete them in stipulated time-frame.
The instructions in this regard were given by the Minister in a meeting convened to review the progress of various developmental works taken up under MGNREGA convergence programme in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency.
The Minister directed the concerned to conduct survey of all areas of the constituency and identify the potential areas followed by submission of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) to the concerned for arranging funds. He also asked them to consult local representatives of the respective areas for identifying important works.
Earlier, the District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad and Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Kashmir, Gazanffar Ali briefed the meeting about existing works taken up under convergence programme in the constituency.
It was given out in the meeting that out of 65 works, 35 have been successfully completed. It was also informed that various construction works including drains, lanes, inner link roads, culverts, foot paths and fencing of graveyard will be completed soon. It was also given out that an amount of Rs 37 lakh has been incurred on these works so far.
Senior Officers of Revenue, RDD and other departments were present in the meeting.
