Congress protest against note ban at Kotranka.
Jammu, Feb 23: Congress staged a massive protest against the BJP govt on the issue of demonitization at kotranka in Darhal constituency of Rajouri District.
Hundreds of party leaders,workers and civil society people assembled in the main chowk of kotranka town to stage strong protest against the anti people, anti poor policies of the BJP government highlighting the sufferings of the common man in the post demonitization period.The protesters blocked the main chowk for three hours and raised anti BJP and anti coalition slogans alleging its failure on all fronts of governance.
The protest demonstration was presided over by the district President Sain Ab Rashid whereas Senior leaders Mohd. Iqbal Shawl, Malik karamat ullah Dard, and Subash sharma were the chief guests.
In the inaugural address,Block Secretary, Kotranka,Mr.Basharat Rather attacked the government for neglecting the area in development aspects and creating problems for the poor through the demonitization decision.Addressing the mammoth gathering, the speakers levelled the charges of misgovernance having resulted due to unthoght decisions on note ban by the Modi government.
Lambasting the state govt. Dard said that no developmental work has been initiated in Budhal area and demanded immediate construction of Bakori bridge and sanction of degree college. Shawl alleged that while the whole nation was standing in a queue to get its own money from ATMs and banks, the favourites of the BJP were being caught with huge amounts of fresh currency.
Later the protesters marched towards the office of the SDM kotranka and handed over a memorandum to him.
