KAS cadre management: Panel to hear views today

JAMMU: The General Administration Department has asked the KAS officers to air their grievances about the cadre management before a panel that is meeting for two hours in the civil secretariat Wednesday evening.
The state government had on Monday accorded sanction to the constitution of a committee to resolve the issues of seniority of the officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) appointed to its time scale in between January 1, 2004 to December 1, 2008.
Vide government order number 203-GAD of 2017 dated February 20, 2017, government ordered constitution of committee to suggest, in the interest of efficient cadre management, a concrete road map to resolve the issues of seniority of the officers of JKAS appointed to its time scale between January 1, 2004 to December 1, 2008 in keeping with the orders of the Supreme Court/ High Court passed in various writ petitions on the subject.
"The Committee has also been mandated to hold consultations with all stake holders and give them opportunity to project their view point," the government order reads.
As per the order, the committee will hear the viewpoint of different stake holders on February 22 this year between 5 pm to 7 pm in the committee room (Ist Floor), Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
