Govt appoints PIOs in GAD

JAMMU: State government on Monday appointed six Public Information Officers (PIOs) in the General Administration Department (GAD) to dispose off RTI applications filed in the department.
As per government order number 204-GAD of 2017 dated February 20, 2017, in suppression of all previous orders on the subject, and in terms of section 5 (1) of Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act 2009, government appointed six officers of the GAD department as PIOs to dispose of the RTI applications under the RTI Act.
Government order reads that Imtiaz Kacho, Deputy Secretary to Government, has been appointed as PIO, Administration and Monitoring; Raeis Ahmad Bhat, Under Secretary to Government as PIO Services (KAS) and Cabinet; Sonam Chhosdon, Under Secretary to Government as PIO Coordination and Vigilance; Iftikhar Rasool Hamdani, Under Secretary to Government as PIO to Establishment, Accounts and All Compassionate Appointments of SRO-43 cases; Amrik Singh, Under Secretary to Government as PIO Services (IAS) and Public Services Guarantee Act; Sajad-un-Nabi, Public Law Officer as PIO Legal Section.
