JAMMU: The police lodged an FIR against the Talab Tillo ration depot dealer accused of blackmarketing PDS ration a day after seizure of ration bags in a raid as exclusively reported by The News Now.
The FIR was registered after intervention of a senior police officer.
“The ration dealer, namely Jai Kumar, son of Hem Raj, resident of Talab Tillo, has been booked in case FIR No. 25/2017 U/S 409 RPC,” said a police officer.
He said that 440 ration bags which were diverted to the Talab Tillo ration depot from CAPD Store at Chatha for black marketing were also seized on the spot.
He said that the government sealed bags had flour, rice which were being filled in bags for black-marketing when the raid was conducted.
Pertinently, The News Now had in its Friday edition reported that DSB sleuths conducted raid at ration depot number 173, Lane No. 6, Talab Tillo, and seized 600 bags of government ration, meant for valid ration card holders, for scrutiny. The sleuths later handed over the ration and dealer to the Talab Tillo police for legal action.
