Directions issued to move LeT militant Naved in covered van

JAMMU: Taking cognizance of the news report published in The News Now in its Saturday edition, senior police officers directed the DPL to issue covered police van for deportation of dreaded Lashkar-e-Tayyaba militant Mohammed Naved.
When contacted, SP, Headquarters, Romesh Kotwal confirmed the report. He said that now onwards LeT militant Naved would be moved in a covered van.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said that the police have issued notice to a Hawaldar and sought explanation from him for not adhering to the norms.
On Friday, LeT militant Mohammed Naved, a resident of Ghulam Mustafabad area in Faislabad town of Pakistan, who was arrested from Udhampur on August 5, 2015, was taken from district jail, Ambphalla in an open vehicle.
Heavy traffic jam occurred in Sarwal-Janipur area when people witnessed the dreaded militant going in open police van.
Sources within district jail informed that it was the responsibility of the district police to provide security cover to the jail inmate.
SP Headquarters Romesh Kotwal had expressed shock and assured inquiry into the incident.
Pertinently, on 5, August 2015,a terror attack originated from Pakistan which left two BSF constables dead on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
Mohammed Naved, resident of Ghulam Mustafabad area in Faislabad town of Pakistan, along with another terrorist Noman, alias Momin, had fired at a BSF convoy at Simroli at around 8 a.m.
The BSF jawans had retaliated killing Noman while Naved managed to escape towards a village where he took three villagers hostage. The villagers managed to capture him and call the police who took him into custody.
