DC Ganderbal distributes financial assistance

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 23: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain, today distributed cheques worth Rs 1015000 among five beneficiaries as financial compensation under assistance in favour of dependents of deceased labourers.
On the occasion, Assistant Labour Commissioner Ganderbal briefed the DC about various ongoing schemes of the Labour Department and progress achieved so far. He was informed that 7625 construction workers have been registered in the district, so far, under the said scheme.
It was given out that Rs 7.06 crore as financial assistance to 7056 beneficiaries and an amount of Rs. 148 lakh has been distributed among 1456 construction workers during the current fiscal.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC Ganderbal exhorted upon officials of the Department to raise awareness among the workers about various ongoing Government welfare schemes to the benefit of deserving people.
