DGP had surprise visit of Jammu City in civil dress during night hours

JAMMU, JANUARY 23: Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid, last night had a surprise visit of Jammu City and adjoining areas to assess on spot police bandubast ahead of Republic Day (RD).
Dr. Vaid, accompanied by DIG Jammu, Mr. Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, visited various areas of Jammu City in civil dress and private car. He took stock of the police functioning in these areas and deployment of personnel.
DGP today disclosed the surprise visit in the senior police officers meeting held at PHQ and discussed the points observed during his visit.
He directed the officers to take immediate steps and rectify the defencies observed. He asked for intelligent policing and dedication besides enhancing arrangements on naka points and night patrolling. He said that field officers should be made bound to remain present in their areas and supervise the arrangements during night hours also.
