Govt to review Cooperative Laws: Seeks suggestions of stakeholders

JAMMU, JANUARY 23: The Government is in the process of reviewing the existing Cooperative Laws including J&K Cooperative Societies Act-1989 and J&K Self Reliant Cooperative Act-1999 and the Rules thereof.
Accordingly, the Government vide Order No: 02-Coop of 2017 dated: 10.01.2017 has constituted a High Level Committee with the mandate to undertake a comprehensive review of these laws.
The Committee in its meetings held on 14th and 20th January 2017 decided to seek views/suggestions from public in general and cooperative stakeholders/interested persons in particular regarding the issue.
According to a statement issued by the Assistant Registrar (Hqr), Cooperative Societies, J&K, any person/s, institution/s/Cooperative Societies interested to suggest their views may deliver the same personally or send it to the office of Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K, (Rajinder Nagar Phase-I Bantalab Jammu or Cooperative Complex SDA Colony Bemina Srinagar upto 02:00 PM on 27.01.2017.
The same can be also emailed on [email protected].
According to the statement, the interested persons/institutions/ Cooperative Societies can also interact with the members of the Committee on the date and time by prior confirmation from the Registrar Cooperative Societies, J&K, Jammu.
