Preparations for IPPI programme reviewed

DODA, JANUARY 20:- Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, today convened a meeting of District Task Force to discuss modalities for effective implementation of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (Phase 1st) scheduled to be held on January 29, 2017.
On the occasion, the DC directed members of the District Task Force to ensure that all children below the age of 5 would be covered during the programme. He also stressed upon the officials of Health Department to lay special focus on the identified high risk areas in the district.
DDC deliberated upon various arrangements put in place for the immunization programme including deployment of medical and para-medical staff, training of health workers, transportation arrangements, besides awareness programmes.
While highlighting the importance of the programme, DDC said that it is a national programme and needs to be implemented in letter and spirit to eradicate the menace of polio. He stressed for adopting concrete and effective measures to achieve 100 percent target in the district.
CMO, ARTO, officer and officials of health department and other concerned attended the meeting.
