Chairperson SSWB distributes sewing machines

JAMMU, JANUARY 20- Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board (SSWB), Nirmal Gupta, distributed sewing machines among the needy women here today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that the Boards is committed to welfare and uplift of poor and needy people and a number of initiatives have been taken up in this regard. She urged upon the women to avail the benefits of skill development centers to make themselves self dependent by establishing their income generating units for which various schemes have been launched by the centre and state government.
Nirmal Gupta exhorted upon the authorities to raise massive awareness among the people about the schemes of the board so that maximum people can avail benefit of these vital programmes of the government.
While speaking on the occasion, State Coordinator Minorities, Sakina Bano elaborated in detail various schemes envisaging socio-economic empowerment of weaker sections of the society.
Among others Executive Director/Secretary JKSSWB, Shahid Mehmood, large number of women besides staff of the Board were present on the occasion.
