Jammu, Jan 20: Another day’s business at Legislative Assembly Jammu started with a noisy note after the members of opposition party protested over the issue of molestation of a Ladakhi medical student by a doctor in Government medical College, Jammu.

While demanding the dismissal of the erring doctor Buphesh Khajuria when the session started early this morning, Congress and National Conference members alleged that the the government has failed to give adequate punishment to the guilty doctor.

However, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Abdul Rehamn Veeri and Minister of state for Health Asiea Naquash replied the house by saying that that the government has suspended the doctor and an FIR has been lodged against him. “The matter is under investigation, and the law will take its own course.”

But the protesting MLAs did not get satisfied with the answers and raised slogans demanding stern action against the doctor. Later, the opposition members also staged a noisy walk out.

Replying to the media outside assembly, MoS Health, Asiya Naqash said that the accused doctor is already under arrest and inquiry is still on. When the report will come, it will be present inside the house.
