Arrangements for celebration of National Voters Day discussed

Udhampur, Jan 19: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Niraj Kumar who is also the District Election Officer, today convened a meeting with the Principals of various schools and colleges to finalize the arrangements for observing National Voters Day on 25th January.
It was decided in the meeting that rallies of students under the theme 'Empowering Young and Future Voters' would be taken out on the occasion.
Principals of various Education institutions were asked to ensure the preparation of banners and placards highlighting various slogans of Election Commission of India. Besides this, Tehsildar Udhampur was asked to organize the function at District Headquarter and was further directed to ensure the participation of electors to whom the DEO shall distribute the EPICs. It was further informed that various cultural programmes like Rangoli competition shall also be organised on the occasion.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Subhash Chander Dogra, Deputy District Election Officer, Sapna Kotwal, Chief Education Officer Bishan Singh,Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Girls Manjulla Arora, Principal, Happy Model Higher Secondary School, Vikram Gulati, Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Swatantra Dev Kotwal among others were present in the meeting.
