Where is the govt? Arora asks vice-chairman
JAMMU: Embarrassing his own government in the Legislative Council, BJP MLC Ramesh Arora highlighted the absence of senior ministers in the House and questioned the seriousness of the government.
Taking cognizance of the matter, Vice Chairman Shehnaz Ganai adjourned the proceedings of the Council for 5 minutes as no senior minister was present in the House. During zero hour in Legislative Council, only MoS Ajay Nanda was present in the House and no Cabinet minister was there.
BJP MLC Ramesh Arora raised the issue with Vice Chairman Shehnaz Ganai saying that House is running without the government and no senior minister is present to participate in the proceedings.
Quoting business rules and procedures of the House, Ramesh Arora said with due respect MoS has no authority and is not the representative of the government. So vice-chairman should adjourn the House so that senior minister can join.
Shehnaz Gani adjourned the house at 12.28 p.m. for five minutes. After few minutes, when Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Hanjura and Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh joined the House, the zero hour started again.
Talking to The News Now, Ramesh Arora said he raised the issue being a responsible member of the House.
