Badhnota to be developed as model village under TSP: DDC Kathua

KATHUA, JANUARY 18 - District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar chaired a meeting to review the works undertaken for the benefit of Tribal communities under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) in the district.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding mutli sectoral infrastructure to be created under Tribal sub plan.
DDC was apprised that Badhnota of Billawar Sub Division has been identified for developing as model village under tribal sub plan under which school infrastructure comprising of additional class rooms, computer laboratory, playground, badminton court, basketball court and approach road will be developed.
The meeting was informed that toilets and repair of health centre will be made to strengthen the health infrastructure in the identified model village besides there will also be the provision of an ambulance. Rural development department was directed to focus on taking up of developmental projects for tribal areas under convergence.
The meeting was also informed that a programme has been started for providing free coaching to IAS/KAS aspirants belonging to the ST community in the district. Besides skill development programme has also been devised to provide trainings to ST students under different trades in ITI and Polytechnic institutions.
DDC directed the officers to speed up the works under convergence with other departments in areas having concentration of tribal population.
EX EN PWD(R&B) was directed to speed up the construction work of the Gujjar & Bakkerwal hostel at Bani.
The meeting was attended by ACD Kathua Dr Sunil Sharma, CMO Kathua, and other sectoral officers.
