Old cave of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to be thrown open tmrw for pilgrims: Shrine Board

Jammu, Jan 16: Natural cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine will be thrown open tomorrow for pilgrims, a shrine board official said here tonight.

"Old (natural) cave has now been opened for pilgrims for darshan of pindies of Mata Vaishno Devi as per usual practice in vogue," Dr Piyush Singla, Addl CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board here said.
He said every year the natural cave is opened for pilgrims after Makar Sankranti.

However, SDM Bhawan has been authorized to regulate the darshan through natural cave considering the yatra rush and congestion at Bhawan to avoid any inconvenience to pilgrims, said the Addl CEO.
He further added that due to continuous heavy flow of yatra the darshan through old cave is not possible and hence kept closed for Yatris through out the year, adding, "natural cave is opened only for few days after Makar Sankranti."
