Lucknow airport reopens after closure due to radar malfunctioning

Lucknow, Jan 15: After nine hours of closure which led to a major chaos among the passengers, Choudhury Charan Singh Amausi International Airport reopened early today after repair of the failed radar system.
The engineers rectified the problem at around 0100 hrs and the airport has been reopened for normal traffic.
The first flight to land this morning was of a Jet aircraft from New Delhi.
More then 30 flights had been cancelled yesterday after the radar system installed at the Air Control stopped functioning at 1600 hrs.
Engineers were rushed from Kanpur and Delhi and later, the radar was repaired after nine hours of work by changing all the four cards, a senior official here confirmed.
