Relief to 2014 flood victims:Of total 27,413 cases, 22,050 yet to be referred to NDMA

JAMMU: Out of total 27,413 cases of 2014 floods, the state government is yet to refer 22,050 cases from 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to consider them for relief and compensation benefits.This was disclosed by the government in the State Assembly in reply to an un-starred question of Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma.
“Total 5,363 cases have been referred to the NDMA, while 22,050 out of total 27,413 cases are yet to be referred to it for grant of compensation benefits,” the government replied.
As per the tabled reply, 2,900 cases have been referred to NDMA from Srinagar district, while details of 11,505 cases are yet to be submitted to the national agency. Details of all the 832 cases are yet to be sent from Samba district.
“Details of 580 cases have been sent to NDMA from Budgam district, while 2,850 case are yet to be referred. 494 cases of Pulwama district have been referred, while 81 are yet to be referred. None of the 5,830 cases from Anantnag district has been referred,” the government said in the reply to the Congress legislator’s un-starred question.
“All the 492 cases in Bandipora district have been referred, while none out of 447 cases in Baramulla has been referred to NDMA, details of all the 495 cases in Udhampur, 3 cases in Ramban, 84 cases of Shopian, 9 cases of Kulgam district, have been submitted to NDMA,” the reply said.
“We didn’t receive details of Jammu district, while there was no case in Ganderbal, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Doda, Kupwara district,” the government said.
From Reasi district, government has referred 280 cases to the NDMA and not referred 207 cases, 8 cases from Kathua district have been referred and 298 are yet to be referred, all the 18 cases of Poonch district have been referred for compensation, the tabled reply reads.
