JKBudget 2017: 6 not-to-miss announcements made by Fin. Minister in the Legislative Assembly
Jammu, Jan 11: While presenting the 3RD budget of his tenure in the PDP-BJP Coalition Government, Finance Minister of Jammu & Kashmir Dr. Haseeb Drabu made an announcement that the 7th Pay Commission recommendations would be implemented in the state from April 1, 2018. Here are some other announcements made by Finance Minister during his speech:
The administrative departments would be given 50 percent funds by February 10 so that they could start works from April 1, contrary to the past when around 80 percent of the funds were released in the last quarter.
Adhaar cards would be made mandatory for applying for government jobs as this will help government understand the total number of unemployed youth as the employment exchanges would be able to keep track of the unemployed youth.
27 employment schemes were functional in Jammu Kashmir including 12 Government of India (GoI) sponsored employment schemes, 9 State government employment schemes and 6 employment schemes run by private players.
Government will also start regularization of casual labourers from next year and soon start regularization of all those contractual employees who had given land to the government for different purposes.
Government will waive off token taxes on transporters for six months starting from July.
