JAMMU: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader-Rigzin Zora today stated that the PDP-BJP combine spoiled the social fabric of Jammu and Kashmir and did nothing new ever since both the ideologically different parties entered into an “unholy alliance.”
During discussion on Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s Address, he said, PDP and BJP sought votes against each other in the Legislative Assembly elections and then entered into an “unholy alliance” that led to polarization of people across the state.
In Kashmir, he said, PDP sought votes against PM Narendra Modi and in Jammu, BJP sought votes in the name of Article 370, Refugees and Kashmiri Pandits.
“When you were given decisive mandate in Kashmir against PM Modi, what led you enter into an unholy alliance with his party in Jammu and Kashmir,” Zora questioned Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti through the Speaker-Kavinder Gupta.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, he said, “You have deceived people of Jammu region. You will have to pay for that. What is your major achievement to count? I would say nothing, because you are just hiding behind the achievements of Congress.”
“It was during Congress rule that colonies for Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) were established in Kashmir Valley, issues of refugees addressed in Jammu. What will you count as achievement? You have not even laid any single new foundation stone in Jammu,” Zora said.
Zora also said that girls of Ladakh, who climbed Mount Everest, were ignored by the Chief Minister-Mehbooba Mufti because, for her (CM), only girls of Kashmir are important.
“You (CM) felicitated a Kashmiri girl, who won Gold Medal in an international event. I appreciate you (CM) but Madam Mehbooba Mufti Ji, let me tell you that thousands of people win Golds, but only few people climb Mount Everest,” he said.
He also hoped that CM will take strict action on a Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) doctor, who had molested some girls of Ladakh.
Concluding his speech, Zora said, “You (PDP-BJP) can fool all the people sometimes, some people all the times but not all the people all the times.”
