DCC submits memorandum to ACR against 'Corruption and Demonetization'

KATHUA : Demanding independent inquiry against corruption and demonetization, a deputation of District Congress Committee Kathua met with Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Kathua, Jitender Mishra and submitted a memorandum. The memorandum was carrying heading as 'Memorandum against 'Corruption and Demonetization- conduct of an independent inquiry and demand of compensation for recouping the losses suffered by demonetization'. Leading the deputation, DCC President Former MLC Subash Gupta said that Congress had termed the demonetization move as "biggest scam of independent India." He said that as part of the nationwide movement initiated by the congress against the subject, the DCC is here to submit his demands before Prime Minister Narindera Modi through district headquarters. Recalling the fact of Congress not against demonetization however, against the process, Subash Gupta said that this is surgical-strike against common masses not against the black money holders. "The farmers, laborers, shopkeepers, small-scale industries have underwent worst phase. Does that mean these people are holding the black money," he said. Subash Gupta further said that Congress party is now demanding of a 'White Paper' to expose the truth behind the demonetization and would like to ask Prime Minister Nariendera Modi that how much black money has been unearthed since November 8, 2016. What is the economic loss to the nation on account of demonetization? How many lives have been lost due to demonetization and why the government has not paid any compensation to the families of the deceased? Will the government place the names of all persons, institutions, and entities that deposited Rupees 25 Lakh or more in bank accounts in the six months proceeding November 8, 2016?Subash Gupta further said that Congress party demands of lifting all restrictions on withdrawal of money with immediate effect. Till the time these restrictions are in place a special rate of 18 percent per annum should be given to account holders. He also demanded of half the rate of ration distributed under PDS and bonus of 20 percent to be provided over the Rabi crops. In addition Congress also demands of depositing Rupees 25000 in account of one family member of BPL. Subash Gupta also demanded of doubling the number of days and wages to be given under MGNREGA.
