Declares Powerman and Powerwomen of J&K State in Powerlifting Championship at Jammu

Jammu, Jan 9: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that sports play vital role in grooming of youth for doing productive things for the betterment of society.
Addressing players in a State powerlifting championship (M&W) at RKM gym, upper gummat, kanji house Jammu, for the upcoming national powerlifting Championship which was organised by J&K Sports Powerlifting Association, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that games are very important to develop youth. He said that games keep away youth from unproductive things and unlawfull activities. He said that sports also play role in physical fitness of the youth so that to make them fit for facing any challenge.
Appealing youth to take part in games, Zulfkar said that some youth are indulged in consuming drugs which is damaging their body and brain. He said that on the other hand some youth utilize time in games and remain physically and mentally fit. He said that games can keep youth away from drugs and society must encourage sports activities.
The Minister said that goverment is serious to boost games and provide better sports infrastructure to youth so that they come forward and utilize it for productive things. He said that goverment is also serious to encourage local sports of the rural and urban areas of the state.
The Minister congratulated all those who participated in powerlifting championship and also lauded the role of J&K Powerling Association especially its General Secretary Rajan Jain for organising such an impressive event.
It is pertinent to mention here that more than 150 participants participated in this championship, which was concluded by Minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali in presence of General Secretary and President Rakesh Jain.
The Minister declared Powerman as Rakesh kumar whereas Rabia khanam as a Powerwomen of J&K State.
The Gold Medalist of the Championship included Harshul, rakesh kumar, pawan kumar, kewal krishan, ansh arora, nageshwar singh, ankush, rajesh, ashraf, waqar ahmed mir, aaqib hussain, minkle singh, nishant, arjun saini, deepak, mohinder pal, chanakya, akshay gupta, roshan, jagbir singh, vickramjeet singh, irvinder kour(f), anjana devi(f), sapna jain(f) whereas silver medalist included shubham, vani sharma, aditya sharma, vishal manhas, samarjeet raja ram, rafiq, parvinder singh, abhimanyu chopra, diggi sharma, gagandeep singh, sunita devi(f).
In the championship tge Bronze medalist were sumit kumar, achintya sharma, deeraj verma, shivam gupta, vishu dutta, vijay choudhary, shubam sharma.
Meanwhile in Federation-Cup championship Gold medalist included Aditya mahajan, anjana devi(f), shubham aryan, vishal manhas, nageshwar, aaqib hussain, jaspreet singh, jagbir singh, vickramjeet singh, Silver medalist included nikhil gupta, puneet bandral, tarun dev singh, shivam gupta, vijay choudhary and Bronze medalist were sumeet kumar, harsh dev singh.
