Over 4.40 Lakh family enrolled under PMJAY, 9.57 L under PMJAY-Sehat

1.87L patients in J&K avail benefits under schemes

SRINAGAR: In a major development, over 4.40 Lakh families under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan and 9.57 Lakh families under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan-Sehat have been enrolled in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan, also known as Ayushman Bharat or the National Health Protection Mission (AB-NHPM) or Modicare, on 23 September 2018.
After two years of successful implementation, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir decided to extend the benefits of AB PM-JAY to the entire population through a 100% government funding mechanism and launched Universal Health Coverage (AB PM-JAY SEHAT). The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 26th December 2020.
So far as per the details available with TNN, over 5.97 Lakh eligible families are to be covered under PMJAY, while 14.56 Lakh eligible families are to be covered under PMJAY-Sehat in Jammu and Kashmir.
Out of 5.97 Lakh families, health cards under PMJAY have been issued to 4.40 lakh (73.70%) families. Similarly, out of 14.56 Lakh families, the cards under PMJA-Sehat have been issued to the 9.57 lakh (65.72%).
Going by the individual data, over 14.91 Lakh individual health cards have been issued in Jammu and Kashmir while 32.70 Lakh individual health cards have been issued under PMJAY-Sehat.
Further, 1,27, 109 patients have been treated under PMJAY. Similarly, 60,594 patients have been treated under the PMJAY-Sehat scheme. Further, under the PMJAY scheme, 1, 23, 986 claims were submitted, out of which 1, 09, 949 claims were paid.
Similarly, under the PMAJY-Sehat, 55, 993 claims were submitted in Jammu and Kashmir out of which 41, 002 claims were paid. Further, as per the details, over 218 hospitals are empanelled under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan and the same numbers of hospitals are empanelled under PM-JAY Sehat.
Meanwhile, 2742 Health and Wellness Centres stand approved in Jammu and Kashmir. As per the details available, the target set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stands at 2029.
Out of 2029, Health and Wellness Centres, 1291 Health and Wellness Centres stands completed. Whereas, approved outlay for 2021-22 for the establishment for Health and Wellness Centres in Jammu and Kashmir stands at Rs 92.41 Cr out of which Rs 7.37 Cr are expenditure.
