JKSSB resumes online edit option for aspirants

Jammu: After receiving large number of representations, the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) on Tuesday resumed ‘Edit Option’ for two days on its web portal and has asked the candidates to upload their signature and photos which are not visible in the application form.
The JKSSB authorities halted Edit Option from its website on 23.12.2021. “ It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that EDIT Option , which was halted , shall resume w.e.f 29.12.2021 to 31.12.2021 for those candidates who have applied through the JKSB online application portal www.jkssb.nic.in for the posts of Sub Inspector in JKP, Home Department advertised vide notification No 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021. It is further notified that the candidates whose signature and photos are not visible in the application form can also upload the same during the availability of Edit Option”,said the order issued by Sachin Jamwal, Secretary JKSSB.
Earlier, the J&K Services Selection Board had extended the last date for the submission of online applications for the posts of police sub-inspectors in the Home Department till December 18.
The last date for the online submission of the UT cadre SI posts advertised in October this year had been fixed as December 10.
Secretary JKSSB, Sachin Jamwal in a notice said that the board had received "numerous representations" from candidates for the last date while extending the same till December 18.
Pertinently, hiccups started taking place the day when JKSSB invited online applications vide Advertisement No. 06 of 2021 dated 21.10.2021 from eligible candidates for participating in the selection process for UT Cadre Posts of Sub-Inspector in Home Department as its posts were floated as 800 , however, the same was increased to 1200 after hue and cry. Again, after representation by various delegations, the government decided to relax the upper age limit for aspirants from 28 to 30 years.
The Office of Lt. Governor of J&K took to Twitter and said "Following representation from various delegations,the Govt has taken a decision to provide one-time age relaxation for aspirants in recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in @JmuKmrPolice. The Upper age limit increased from 28 to 30yrs &no.of UT cadre posts also enhanced from 800 to 1200."
