2 among ex -MLC NC’s son under scanner as NIA issues fresh notice

Jammu: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday issued fresh summons to the son of former MLC of National Conference and another person for questioning in JeI terror funding case.
Official sources said that NIA has suspicion that two persons including former NC MLC’s son are involved in the terror funding case.
“In connection with the NIA raid (JeI properties)at Noor Masjid/Islamic model school Noor Mohalla Bajalta, the NIA Monday issued summons to Mohd Iqbal son of Haji Mohd Hussain (Ex.MLC NC party) of Bain Bajalta as he has purchased 10 kanal land of said masjid/school which is reportedly used for terror funding.
He has served a notice through police post Sidhra to appear before NIA Headquarter opposite CGO complex Lodi Road New Delhi on 30/11/21 at 1100 hours.
Besides, NIA has also summoned the owner of the said property namely Abid-ul- Rehman aliasTipu son of late Ghulam Nabi Faradabadi of Rajinder Bazar, Jammu to attend the office of NIA on same date and same time”, the authoritative sources informed The News Now.
They said that the recent summons have been issued based on the disclosure of the caretaker cum Molvi of Noor Masjid, Bajalta namely Ghulam Rasool son of Nazir Ahmed Shah of BangushPatnizi, Kishtwar at present in the constructed rooms of Noor Masjid Bajalta.
Ghulam Rasool was directed to face NIA’s questioning on 22/11/2021 and SSP Jammu was asked to ensure his presence in the office of NIA at Delhi.
Pertinently, on 27, October, this year, NIA carried out raids at seventeen locations across seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir in a case related to Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), which was banned in 2019. The raids were conducted in connection with an illegal funding case registered earlier this year.
The raids were carried out in Anantnag, Kulgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora and Budgam districts in the Kashmir division and Kishtwar and Jammu districts in the Jammu division of the Union Territory.In the searches conducted in the premises of office bearers and members of the JeI (Jamaat-e-Islami) NIA seized various incriminating documents and electronic devices.
