Educates youth about benefits of PMEGP


JAMMU, NOVEMBER 24: District Industries Centre, Jammu participated in the two day “Literary-cum-Cultural Tribal Festival” organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs from 24th November to 25th November, 2021 here at Zorwar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu.‘
On the directions of Subah Mehta, General Manager, DIC Jammu, Mohammad Ashraf Chowdhary, Project Manager, District Industries Centre, Jammu participated and highlighted the benefits of “Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP] under which the unemployed youths can come forward to avail the credit linked subsidized loans by starting their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors. He further highlighted that loans upto Rs 10.00 lakh and up-to Rs. 25.00 lakh can be availed under the service and manufacturing sector with a provision of margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35%.
An applicant of minimum 18 year age can apply under this scheme. Moreover, the beneficiary under this scheme becomes eligible for expansion of previous PMEGP unit for up-to Rs. 25 lakh in Service Sector and upto Rs 1 crore in Manufacturing Sector, after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of first loan within stipulated time.
He further highlighted the objectives of the scheme, eligibility criteria in detail so that the youngster can become the job provider instead of job seeker.
In addition to above, a camp under the PMEGP was organised by DIC Jammu at Border Village Abdullian, RS Pura, Jammu.
Parteek Panjathia, Functional Manager, DIC Jammu highlighted the benefits of the PMEGP scheme and appealed the youth and the public representatives to come forward and also motivate co-villagers to avail the loan and become the self reliant.
