2 killed, 2 hurt in road mishap

Jammu: Two persons were killed and two children suffered injuries when a vehicle skidded off and rolled down into a deep Nallah along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Saturday evening in Ramban district.
SSP Ramban, P D Nitya said that an information was received that one light motor vehicle while coming from Jammu to Srinagar had met with an accident at Digdole and got off road skidding deep into the Nallah.
The rescue team consisting of QRT, SDRF, District police and Army immediately started search and rescue operations.
The driver of the ill fated vehicle identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed Qadri, 40, resident of BatpuraKhanabal, Anantnag was found dead along with and one unknown girl on the spot.
Two children namely Mohsin Ahmed, 5, of Anantnag and Anayat Ahmed, 10, got seriously injured and have been shifted to the District Hospital, Ramban for treatment.
The search and rescue operations are still underway, she added.
