Tourism department ropes in REPL

Jammu: The Directorate of Tourism, Jammu Province has appointed a Delhi-based infrastructure consultancy company Rudrabhishek Enterprises Ltd. (REPL), as Technical Consultants for development of Tourism Projects in Jammu region.
The tourism projects being developed include types of tourism activities i.e.Mountain, Adventure, Heritage, Eco-tourism and Pilgrimage tourism etc.
“The Union Ministry of Tourism is undertaking various initiatives with a vision to develop theme-based and circuit-based tourism to improve the tourists’ experience and enhance employment opportunities,” a handout said.
It read that the Jammu region attracts tourists across the globe for different purposes and the capacity building and streamlining of various tourism facilities will provide better information and infrastructure which will add to not only tourist convenience but also ensure their safety and security resulting into rise in tourist footfall. Influx of tourists would provide more livelihood and business opportunities for the locals and the economic growth would improve the lives of people on various social indicators.
REPL will undertake various tourism related assignments including preparation of concept and pre-feasibility report, detailed project reports, tender documents, architectural working and structural drawings and supervision during execution.
“Mapping of the tourism assets in the Union Territory, community survey to determine needs and potential of engagement of local communities in the development and management of tourism products,” it said.
Pradeep Misra, CMD-REPL said, “Jammu and Kashmir has always been an attraction for tourists. The development is on a fast track in the region. The J&K administration’s vision to develop tourism projects will add value to the existing tourism infrastructure in the state. We are already working as consultants for vetting of draft base maps and attribute data collection for AMRUT City – Jammu. The experience of working in the region will further help in executing the project successfully.”
Prabhakar Kumar, AVP-Planning, REPL said, “REPL will document the local architectural style, construction techniques and materials to develop appropriate construction methods and specifications while identifying the list of tourism projects. Assessment of existing situations, tourism potential, available infrastructure for tourists, and determination of gaps for development of tourism destinations will also be done by the company.”
REPL is already working on many infrastructure and planning projects for both the state and central government’s projects pan India including Smart Cities projects, PMAY, BIM consultancy for Chennai Metro, GIS-Based master plans, water supply system, street vending plans, online building plan approval system etc.
