JAMMU: Dr Parneesh Mahajan Convenor, Department of Training, BJP J&K on Sunday said the prime reason for J&K slow growth is the incompetent flock of employees working in the government departments.

In a statement issued here, the senior BJP leader said with no mechanism having been placed to act against the redundant employees has lead to dismal performance of government departments which in turn badly affected the development profile of the region.

Lauding the government’s direction to pace up the process of disengaging the deadwood employees from the services under the amended service rules of forced retirement of incompetent employees after 22 years of service or having attained 48 years of age, Dr Parneesh said that government should not waste even a jiffy in showing doors to the people who are responsible for the snarling development process in the UT. He said that this lot is the main reason behind people’s miseries as government services are seriously being hampered by the ‘let it go’ attitude of these employees who are good for nothing.

“After completing this exercise”, he said the government should make it a point that several checks are put in place to assess the competence of the employees so that no one could dodge again the government by getting benefits despite not doing any substantial work which is of the use of government or the people.

Dr Parneesh said that the government needs to ensure that no deadwood employee can deceive the process of sieving of such employees and remain intact in the service as this will fail the entire purpose. He said that the need of the time is that J&K should move to become the best UT of the country with corruption-free administration and phenomenal efficacy at all levels.
