Sajad calls for collective efforts to reject violence in entirety
Srinagar, Sep 14: Calling for collective efforts to reject violence in its entirety, Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday said, "Kashmir has been in a perpetual state of grief and misery since the eruption of violence in the early 90s.
Former minister Sajad underscored the need for collective efforts to reject violence in its entirety so that Kashmir could slowly move towards prosperity and no longer gets plunged into a vicious cycle of violence.
Mr Sajad was speaking after visiting north Kupwara’s Kalmuna village to commiserate with the family of Arshid Ahmad Mir, Sub Inspector of J&K Police who was killed by militants in Khaniyar area of Srinagar on Sunday.
Sajad expressed his condolences and sympathies with Arshad’s family and termed the incident merciless and inhuman. He said that the unending cycle of violence has devastated thousands of families and put a sudden end to countless dreams.
He said "It is imperative that we explicitly condemn and denounce violence. Such dastardly acts should be collectively rejected and must have no societal acceptance if we want to pull Kashmir out of this vortex of violence". Mr Sajad prayed for the departed soul and patience and strength for the family to bear such an irreparable loss.
