Health Ministry dismisses allegations that India will miss July 2021 target of administering half a billion doses

Jammu, July 27: The Union Government today said, a total of 457 million COVID vaccine doses have been supplied to the States and Union Territories from January till date. An additional 60.3 million doses are expected to be supplied by this month end. This will amount to a total of 517 million doses being supplied till 31st of July.
The Health Ministry said, the Centre has been at the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Vaccination forms an integral component of the five-point strategy of Government to fight the pandemic including Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
Dismissing the allegations that India will miss the July 2021 target of administering half a billion doses, the Health Ministry said in a release that it is the endeavour of the government to provide vaccination to eligible citizens in the shortest possible time as per availability of the COVID vaccines.
