Sensex slumps 164.26 pts in this week

Mumbai, Jul 24: The BSE Sensex dropped by 164.26 points or 0.31 pc to settle at 52,975.80 in a volatile trading week under review as the surging Delta variant cases sapped risk appetite globally.

Nifty too lost 67.35 points or 0.42 pc to settle at 15,856.05.

BSE Mid-Cap slipped 109.27 or 0.47 pc to settle at 23,021.14. BSE Small-Cap skid 36.40 points or 0.14 pc to settle at 26,425.91.

On Monday, the Sensex dropped 586.66 points to settle at 52,553.40. Nifty slipped 171 points to settle at 15,752.40.

On Tuesday, the Sensex dropped 354.89 points or 0.68 pc at 52,198.51. The Nifty 50 index slipped 120.30 points or 0.76 pc at 15,632.10.

The market was shut on Wednesday for 'Bakri Id '.

On Thursday, the Sensex soared 638.70 points to settle at 52,837.21. Nifty added 191.95 points to settle at 15,824.05.

On Friday, the positive global cues supported buying in domestic share. Sensex rose 138.59 points to settle at 52,975.80. Nifty too gained 32 points to settle at 15,856.05.
